Leveraging twitter might be the most cost-effective method of promotion for your site. Those not already using twitter might not realise its potential. Twiter is one of the best social platforms, and if you follow my technique, you will soon understand why.
- Twitter is real time. Twitter is so real time, you won’t believe it. If it is happening, it will be tweeted by someone. Catching up on trends and “breaking news” in your niche is easy with a twitter account.
- Twitter is big. Lots of people are using it already, in every niche. Show your site to those people as well.
- Twitter can get you exposure. Visitors coming to your site from twitter are not likely to convert. But, they are very likely to retweet (post it themselves) your link, and their followers will see it too. Yes, it is word of mouth in the digital world.
- Twitter can get you readers. RSS readers are golden. I would trade any SERP position for 1% of that traffic in RSS readers. Remember, RSS is voluntary. People want to read your posts. 1 person who wants to read you is worth 100 who might want to read you.
- Twitter is viral. Twitter users are multiplatform internet junkies. They will not only retweet something they like, they will bookmark it, link it from their sites, blog about it from their blogs, digg it or stumble it.
- Twitter is automatic. There are tools available to automate both managing and expanding your profiles. You can also feed your RSS into tweets from your profile, for maximum exposure whenever you post an article.
- Twitter is easy. It really is so easy to use, you will slap yourself for not utilizing it earlier.
I am going to explain a step by step method of doing all of the above, for every site you own or will own. It will all be as automated as possible, and easy to apply. Once you do it once, you will be able to do it blindly for every site you launch in the future. The method is stupidly simple but very effective on any niche.
